Restoring Inner City Hope, Inc.

is a non-profit organization founded in 2011. Our mission is to love, inspire, and empower youth and families throughout the city of baltimore.

In 2011 Michael Battle had an idea to have a prayer walk in Cherry HIll, the neighborhood he grew up in. The area had always been looked at in a negative light by those who knew nothing of the small community aside from that which they saw on the news or had heard from others. With the violence rate rising in the area Mr. Battle and a handful of friends create the Disciple Street Team that would over the course of 8 years evolve into the RICH - Restoring Inner City Hope team that would continue to focus on the residents of CHerry Hill but would provide a wealth or resources and opportunities for youth and young adults from across the city. RICH continues to hold their annual prayer walk but also offers haircuts and school supplies in the fall, hosts Reality Checks, supports other local outreach programs, and so much more.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men. You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket,[a] but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine[b] before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
