Our Impact

The RICH Program, short for Restoring Inner City Hope, is a beacon of hope in the heart of Baltimore, making a profound impact on the lives of countless youth and families in the city. Founded in 2011 by Michael and Danielle Battle, this nonprofit organization has become a vital force for positive change in the historic Cherry Hill community and beyond.

At its core, the RICH Program is driven by a mission to love, inspire, and empower youth and families throughout Baltimore. The organization recognizes the challenges and adversities that many young people in underserved communities face daily, and it is committed to being a source of support, guidance, and transformation.

One of the RICH Program's flagship initiatives is its Youth Leadership After School and Summer Program, designed for students aged 10 to 16. This program provides a safe and nurturing environment where young individuals can engage in a variety of activities that promote personal growth and development. From self-development classes and mental health awareness workshops to poetry, photography, and STEM activities, the RICH Program offers a holistic approach to youth development.

Additionally, the RICH Program takes its commitment to education seriously. It recognizes that academic success combined with experiences that expand youths’ understanding of the future they could have, are key drivers for future opportunities. Through partnerships with local schools and educators, the program offers academic support and resources to help students excel.

One standout feature of the RICH Program is the RICH Juice Bar, a social enterprise initiative that not only provides healthy drinks to the community but also serves as a platform for workforce development. Young adults from the program are given the opportunity to gain employment experience, learn about financial literacy, and develop essential life skills while working at the juice bar.

Beyond its direct services, the RICH Program engages in community outreach events that touch the lives of residents in Cherry Hill and beyond. From back-to-school festivals that provide school supplies and haircuts to Thanksgiving turkey giveaways and coat drives during the winter months, the organization is deeply ingrained in the fabric of the community.

The impact of the RICH Program is evident in the transformed lives of its participants. Through its programs, countless youth have discovered their potential, gained confidence, and set ambitious goals for their futures. The organization has succeeded in breaking down barriers to success, equipping young people with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges and pursue their dreams.

In Baltimore, where the RICH Program operates, the organization represents a symbol of hope, resilience, and unity. Its unwavering commitment to empowering youth and families is creating a ripple effect, fostering a stronger and more vibrant community for generations to come. The RICH Program's impact is not only evident in the individuals it serves but also in the positive transformation of Baltimore's inner-city neighborhoods.
